Time to catch you all up...

... with what's been going on. Well to start with I still do not have my laptop back! Almost a month now and it's been driving me crazy. I think it is because I have the extended warranty so any yahoo off the streets who is going to be paying for work gets put in front of me. Just my theory but I'm sticking to it. Anyway, July came and went in a blur. It was a very busy month but a good one. I have to thank my friend Colleen for coming here and working really hard for the month. We did not get to do much outside of work but one thing we did before she left was the alpine slide at the mountain. To explain it's basically a concrete track that you ride a little cart down. The cart has a brake and depending how much you use it is how fast you go. They have all kinds of warning signs about going to fast and flying out of the track etc etc etc but of course I did indeed go to fast and fly out of the track. It was pretty cool actually because first the cart flew out and I continued sliding, then I flew out and landed on my feet right beneath the chair lift. Nothing better than having spectators for your big wreck. I turned, gave them a touchdown sign and a boisterous tadaa and ran back up the mountain to my cart, jumped back in the track and finished my run. No major injuries just one patch of skin on my right wrist basically gone so all in all pretty fun. Plus Colleen got a huge kick out of it as she had predicted that I would do just that. That same day I dropped a couch on my foot nearly breaking it and severely cut my right index finger with a knife. One of those days... Since August started we have been doing some projects around the lodge. The major one is we spent three days last week dropping trees. There were five of us working and we dropped, skinned and piled between 85 and 100 trees. It was good, hard fun work. We also now have enough firewood for at least the next three winters. On the eighth I flew to Florida as it was once again orthodontist time. Wednesday I got to see some friends and have a little bbq. Plus it was poker night and I was catching cards so I took a nice chunk of change off my buddies. Very nice when that happens. Had a great ortho visit and got my hair cut after that. Got to spend some time with my family and also see some friends so all in all a great trip. I am totally not used to the humidity any more though. Oh my God how do people live there? Hahaha. No other major excitement or incidents though which is good. I have booked my next cruise however which is exciting. My buddy Reno out here has never been and after hearing me talk about them so much he decided he wanted to try one so... May 4th, 2008 we will be sailing out of San Juan, Puerto Rico on a 7 night southern Caribbean cruise. I am very excited and I am sure you all will be hearing much more about it as the date approaches. Would love to have some more friends on the ship as well so if you are interested let me know and I'll get you the details. For now though I think that's it so I will go. Have a wedding party this weekend, Thursday thru Sunday so I will be a little busy but I hope to be back on here soon reporting the return of my laptop. Take care, Jim
