Somewhere on the road less traveled

I am a 34 year old who recently retired, sold my home and possessions and bought an RV so I can travel America. Please come along on my adventure by following me here. Enjoy.

Back on the road at last...

...but first some pictures. The first shot is from the
day I got to Stephen and set up in the campground.
As you can see it was quite beautiful and really
a pretty little spot. The tent was gone by the next
day replaced by a trailer. There were a total of
11 spots in the campground and at the start of the
harvest they were all full. It was neat because there
were big motorhomes, a couple fifth wheels, some trailers
and four truck campers so the entire RV
spectrum was represented. The nice weather was not to last however.
For the first week we had a lot of time off because
it was too warm. Once the cold air rolled in though
it stayed cold the rest of the time. One morning
I woke up to find snow on the ground. It was
amazing to see snow the beginning of October!
The camper did great in the cold even a few
nights where it got down to the low 20's.
I kept the cold water on just a trickle in the
bathroom to keep the hose and lines from freezing,
and the pilot light lit on the water heater and
had no problems at all. The only thing I had to
remember to do is keep shoes on inside
because the floor stayed quite cold. Overall
my little house was quite cozy. Now back to where I am headed. I am in Fargo,
North Dakota right now and heading south to
I90. Then I am going west across South Dakota
and into Wyoming before cutting south again
to Denver. Why Denver? Because I have a flight out
of there on Friday back to Florida. Monday
is my next orthodontist appointment so I will
be in Sarasota for the weekend then fly back out
on Tuesday. Got a great price on United actually,
plus I was going west anyway so Denver here
I come. Still nothing definite for the winter but
I spoke with a lady who owns a lodge in
Winter Park the other day and I think it went well
so perhaps some good news any day now.
If not then when I get back to Colorado next
week I will head up into the mountains
and hit some places in person and see what
I can find. Well that catches everyone up to date I think
and I want to get back on the road. It feels
good to have to camper back on the truck and
to be going down the road again. Have a great
week and can't wait to see my friends
and family this weekend. Take care, Jim
