Somewhere on the road less traveled

I am a 34 year old who recently retired, sold my home and possessions and bought an RV so I can travel America. Please come along on my adventure by following me here. Enjoy.

A chance to update at last...

...so here I am. First off let me say Happy New Year to all!! I am sorry I have not been able to get on here sooner but it has been crazy here since Christmas. We were at basically 100% occupancy and with being slightly understaffed I have been putting in a LOT of hours. 7 am to 8:30 or 9 pm every day for that many days and I was run down. Today was my first day off since Christmas and I slept in and took a nap so I think my body needed to recharge. It felt good though believe me. Still loving it up here though. We have been having just amazing sunrises almost every morning out over the mountains. That's been my favorite part of each day being outside starting the morning chores and watching to see what show will be like. Had some snow last week but nothing like what eastern Colorado got and it is snowing now and is supposed to drop about 4 inches tonight. That is fine with me because I haven't been skiing since right before Christmas and I want to go tomorrow. The mountain was so crowded and I am spoiled already because of being able to go anytime so I decided to wait until the crowds had left. Couldn't bring myself to stand in hour lift lines and deal with people being everywhere on the slopes. I'm a local now and the last couple weeks were for the tourists. Hahaha. Despite being so busy things went very well for us. No major problems and the guests have been very happy so that is great. New Years was fun. I worked all day but got to go out with a few other staff that night. The 31st was Jenna's birthday and the 1st was Clint's so we had both of those to celebrate plus New Years so it was fun but a rough morning on the first for all of us. Everyone who sent me voice mails, emails and text messages thank you. I tried calling a bunch of people but kept getting the all circuits are busy message. I was thinking of you all though. I can't believe it is 2007 already. 2006 was an amazing year for me though and '07 will be as well I think. Sometimes I can't believe how lucky and blessed I am. Everyone should get the chance to live their dream. I am going to run now and get a bite to eat but thanks again for all the wishes and thoughts. I hope you all have just a great 2007. Take care, Jim
