Somewhere on the road less traveled

I am a 34 year old who recently retired, sold my home and possessions and bought an RV so I can travel America. Please come along on my adventure by following me here. Enjoy.

Where's Jimbo?...

...He's in Maryland! I am staying with some friends of mine who live outside of D.C. Basically between DC and Annapolis if you are looking on a map. Tom is a buddy from the Army and he and his wife Heather extended an invite so I will be here for a few days. They actually invited me to stay through the weekend and since they told me the weekend includes picnics and crabs and such I would be foolish to leave. Plus it's fun hanging out and visiting with old friends. I came down through New York and Pennsylvania yesterday and saw some of the flooding they are having. One bridge I went across on I84 was scary because the water was so high and just rushing under the bridge, with huge trees and all kinds of stuff in it. I had safe travels though so it was good. While I was in NY I stopped at Orange County Choppers which for those who don't know is a custom motorcycle shop that is featured on Discovery Channels program American Choppers. It was cool to see a lot of the bikes in person that I saw built on the show. They are truly works of art. Anyway from here I plan on heading into the Carolinas then most likely up into the Smoky mountians. Western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee has always been one of my favorite spots. Very pretty up there. For now though I am staying put for a few days where it is high and dry. I'll get some pictures over the next few days and definitely some over the weekend and get them up for you all soon though. Take care for now, Jim

Glad you are back and safe and had a wonderful time in Nova Scotia. Mike and I miss you but I am happy that you got in contact with Tom and Heather to catch up with them for a while. Please tell them hello for Mike and I and that we plan on getting in touch with them ASAP. Things have been a little un-nerving up here in Northern New York which I will give you a call about. Lots of Love- Sonya
