Spent three wonderful days at Umbagog Lake...
When the wind dies,
And the water becomes a mirror.
As the reds ands oranges of sunset,
Become pinks, tangerines and purples.
Fading at last to night.
I am still and quiet, and content.
...Well I am back in civilization again for a few days anyway. Planning on heading over to Nova Scotia here sometime this week. Totally enjoyed New Hampshire. I hiked Thursday for about six hours at Bear Brook State Park and then Saturday I kayaked for four around Lake Umbagog. The rest of the time I did a lot of nothing. Read some books and looked at the lake and just relaxed. Sunday night I sat for about 2 hours as the sun set across the lake and just watched. It was so entrancing to listen to the loons and see the clouds changing shape and color. I am no poet but I do sometimes write poetry, which not too many people know. The words above just came to me over the two hours so I thought I would share them with you all. Not sure where I am going to spend the next couple of days but I will let you all know before I get on the boat. Take care, Jim
