Somewhere on the road less traveled

I am a 34 year old who recently retired, sold my home and possessions and bought an RV so I can travel America. Please come along on my adventure by following me here. Enjoy.

Almost to Canada so I guess....

...It's time to turn right. I am in Ogdensburg, Ny. right now getting an oil change so I thought I would get a quick update out. I spent most of Saturday winding through the Adarondack Mountains in some truly bad weather. Cold, cloudy, rainy all day but the area was still just beautiful. There were lakes everywhere with little cottages on the shoreline and rivers and streams that the road kept crossing. I knew I was truly away from it all when the radio couldn't pick up any stations at all. About halfway through the day I actually was able to get a hold of my buddy Mike and so I met up with him and his wife Sonya about 9pm in Watertown and we sat up till 4am catching up. They spent Sunday showing me Ft Drum and the surrounding area up here which I have to say is quite pretty though I'm sure the winters are brutal. We grilled some steaks and sat up late again so I'm sure they are having a long day at work. It was really great to be able to spend a couple of days catching up and visiting and very kind of them to put up with a totally surprise visit. From here I'm going east a little bit then back into the mountains to a place called Serenac Lake(not looking at a map so I'm guessing on the spelling) then on to Lake Placid. I get asked a lot if I'm enjoying myself and the answer is most definitely yes! Hopefully that trend continues but I will let you all know if it doesn't. So thats all for now but again Mike, Sonya, Trooper, Sabre and Scout thanks for letting me hang out, I really enjoyed it. See you again next time I'm in these parts. Bye for now, Jim

Hey Jim...we had a wonderful time with you and it was so great to see you again. You are always welcome at our home whenever you are in the area. It was great to catch up and reminesce about the old times. They brought back such wonderful memories. The pups missed you and even went into the room you slept in looking for you. Please continue to keep in touch. Missing You... Sonya
