Somewhere on the road less traveled

I am a 34 year old who recently retired, sold my home and possessions and bought an RV so I can travel America. Please come along on my adventure by following me here. Enjoy.

Well I think this is big news...

...so here goes. I met with Jimmy and Jeannine the other day and after hearing the offer and considering my options I have decided to stay on long term. I am going to be moving into the office as soon as another maintenance/driver guy is hired and learning all that goes with that. They also will have me learning the ins and outs of the housekeeping department as well as the kitchen and at some point over the summer I will become the operations manager for the lodge. I will continue in that role through April 2008 and at that point I can either leave or become the lodge manager. Jimmy told me as far as he is concerned I can go as far as I want with them and they are excited to have someone who is willing to take on some responsibility and enable them to not have to spend every waking hour running the lodge. I think this is going to be challenging but I am also excited to get this chance and learn about business. No matter what happens it is great that I will have this opportunity and have the chance to learn and grow in a totally new way. Thanks for the comments and emails from everyone with advice and thoughts. I hope some of you get to come out here and see me and this beautiful place I'm living. You have plenty of time to plan a trip now. Till then take care, Jim

Any new experience is a challange and we are sure your up to it!! Don't get bogged down, though, and forget your dream.

Good Luck
