Somewhere on the road less traveled

I am a 34 year old who recently retired, sold my home and possessions and bought an RV so I can travel America. Please come along on my adventure by following me here. Enjoy.

Advice needed...

...to help me make a big decision. The beginning of the month the owners of the lodge approached me about coming on full time, long term with them. They want me to be the office manager and to also oversee the maintenance and housekeeping departments. We are going to have a meeting this week about specifics but I am considering accepting. I had travel plans for this summer but northern California and the pacific northwest aren't going anywhere and the chance to live for free and sock some money away is tempting. Plus it would be great experience and open doors for me as I do continue to travel and work. I have to admit I was very surprised by the offer and maybe a bit surprised that I was open to considering it. I do really like it here though and the summer would be an amazing time to hike and camp. Please weigh in with any thoughts or opinions you have about this. I have been thinking it through every which way, but outside perspective is always good. Thanks for any input and take care, Jim

I think it would be a great opportunity for you. It would be nice to hike a lot of the mountains in the area in the summertime as well. Plus, the opportunity to save some cash and and live for free. Go for it.

Hi Jim

Follow your heart. You are young and have plenty of time to resume your travels. It sounds like a good opportunity to do something very different.

Do what your heart tells you bud!

If you are considering the offer that only means that you must really be in love with the place. Like you said, none of the places where your travels may lead will disappear anytime soon.

Good Luck Bud!!
