Somewhere on the road less traveled

I am a 34 year old who recently retired, sold my home and possessions and bought an RV so I can travel America. Please come along on my adventure by following me here. Enjoy.

I am settled in...

... for the weekend. I am at Merrick State Park in Wisconsin. It is right on the Mississippi River and the other side of the river is Minnesota. The loop of the campground I am on is a small one, only 25 sites, and seperated from a much larger loop by quite a bit. No complaints though, surrounded by big trees and the river is just down the bank behind my site. Quite nice. I stocked up for the weekend prior to getting here so hopefully I do not have to go anywhere till Tuesday. Even then checkout is 3 pm so not to bad. Got a nice ribeye in the freezer, three pounds of brats, some diced onions, some chicken thighs and bbq sauce, bunch of egg noodles, all the snacks and beer I need so let the holiday begin. Might do some hiking tomorrow as I saw some trails coming in that looked interesting, but after that I think it will be a lazy couple of days. To top it off I have great reception on the air card and phone. Just up to the weather now. Hope you all have a wonderful and safe Labor Day wherever you are and whatever you do. Hard to believe the summer is over already. Take care, Jim

Looks like a great place to stay. Your weather looks much nicer there than here in Northern New York. Wish you a wonderful Labor Day Weekend. It was good talking to you.
