What a great day...
...yesterday was!! I worked my regular day off, which is Monday, this week so I could have yesterday off. The reason I did that was so I could go to Boulder and visit with my best friend Stacy and her sister, my good friend Kelly. They were in Boulder visiting with their brother and his wife. We had a great afternoon. I had never been to Boulder before so it was great just wandering around and seeing the place. We had lunch in a cool little pub/ cafe kinda place and wandered some more then went to Cheescake Factory for dessert-yummy! Just getting the chance to sit and chat and catch up in person was so nice. They are such amazing friends and I am so lucky and blessed that they are in my life. Love you guys! Being able to see them and spend the day together was enough to make it an amazing day but my day was not over. I left Boulder and went to Denver where I met up with my boss Jeannine and my buddy Reno. Jeannine's cousin is John Petrucci, who is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. He was in town for a show and hooked us up with great seats and VIP passes. We met up with him before the show and went to dinner which was wild. Here the four of us are and he has people walking up to him asking for autographs, taking pictures it was weird. He is so laid back though. Just totally a regular guy who happens to be a world class guitar player. After dinner we got to hang out in his dressing room for a bit and then between sets we got to go back as well. He is touring with Joe Satriani ( a legend) and Paul Gilbert and each guy went on and did a set then all three came out and jammed together. Just absolutely amazing to watch and hear! I got to meet all of them and they were very cool. Just a crazy experience and very neat as well. In the picture it is me and Joe Satriani up front, then Paul Gilbert, John Petrucci, Jeannine and Reno. Got home pretty late and have to work here shortly but had to tell you all about my great day. Don't know how I got so lucky but I have to tell you it is good to be me. Gonna run but take care, Jim
