View from one of the hot tubs...

...here at Woodspur. I still can't believe I will be living here for the winter. I have settled in pretty well and been working on some projects the last couple of days. The weather has been very warm but it will be changing tomorrow and the next week will be cooler with some snow as well. I really love it up here and can't wait for the mountain to open so I can get skiing. Right now there is only three of us here at the lodge. Sean is a cook and my roomate, Aubrey is a housekeeper and then me. It's cool having the run of the lodge right now but it will be good when we have guests and the rest of the staff gets here. The picture below is from the same spot as the first but it is as the sun is setting. This place is so amazingly gorgeous! Had to play around with the manual settings on the camera to get it as the auto feature used the flash to light up the dark trees up close, which totally washed out the mountain in the back. I'm still researching them but I think I'm going to make the investment and buy some good camera gear. You all have said so many nice things about the pictures I have taken, and I really enjoy getting out and finding the shots that I think the better gear will be good. Plus being stationary for the next few months in such a beautiful place would give me the chance to learn the gear and some of the technical side of things, while also coming away with some amazing pictures. Just have to convince myself to spend the considerable amount of money that it will take. Almost there though.
