Somewhere on the road less traveled

I am a 34 year old who recently retired, sold my home and possessions and bought an RV so I can travel America. Please come along on my adventure by following me here. Enjoy.

Please be patient--I'm learning as I go with this...

I will start by saying hi and welcome to my blog. I really am just learning about blogging and how to do this so one day at a time and maybe soon pictures! I have always had a dream to travel America in an rv so in that spirit I retired from a career in law enforcement, put my house on the market and decided to set out. My home is now under contract and if all goes as planned I will close May 10th. I then plan to buy a truck camper load up and head out on the road. I truly believe that this is going to be an amazing life changing experience and despite the fears and apprehensions that come with stepping away from "normal" life, I can't wait to be out there. Mark Twain wrote, "Years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the tradewinds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." and this is what I am doing. To my friends and family I say thanks. Without your support and encouragement I may never have done this. Please travel with me via updates and photos and know that whatever happens and wherever I go I love you all! To those I will meet along the way I look forward to making your acquaintance and most of all I look forward to exploring this amazing country. Not quite out there yet but soon I truly will be-somewhere on the road less traveled. Jim

Hi Jim, this is Mom.I've never "blogged" before either so I don't have a clue how this works but I hope you get it. Your post is really touching. Think my eyes misted a bit as I read it... Mark Twain was a very smart man as are you. Want you to know how proud I am of you and confident that, whether the road ahead is smooth or bumpy, the important thing is it will always be YOUR road. Love, Mom
